TRAUMA CARE

About Trauma Care

Trauma Care was founded in 1996 to address the need for commonly agreed standards of best clinical practice in the management of trauma. We aim to improve the outcome of the trauma victim by establishing best practice throughout the whole chain of care. We achieve this through education, research and publishing. Membership is open to all medical disciplines - including clinicians, paramedics, nurses - and to members of the emergency services. No other organisation encompasses the diverse specialities involved in care of trauma victims from the moment of injury, to the return to active life.

Events and Conferences

We host a series of online and face-to-face CPD events delivering the latest in learning, developments and information within the Trauma Care sphere. You can catch-up on all of our previous webinars and annual conference talks via our website.

Charity and Fundraising

The charity supports research in the field and a variation of educational opportunities throughout the year. We have some excellent volunteers who help raise money for the charity, with some using our Gold Bond London Marathon places.

THE NEED

" Trauma is a serious public health problem, with notable social and economic costs. In the UK, 17,000 deaths each year are a direct result of injuries. Annually, injuries lead to 720,000 hospital admissions and 6 million visits to emergency departments. Victims of trauma receive care and attention from many individuals within a wide range of specialities and professional backgrounds. Without commonly agreed standards, patients’ outcome may be less than optimal. "

BECOME A TRAUMA CARE MEMBER

The key to a successful future for Trauma Care lies in it's members. We are delighted that membership is growing at a very healthy rate and we have as members doctors, nurses, paramedics, first responders, physiotherapists, remote environment medics, military medical personnel, members of the other emergency services and health care administrators.

Trauma Care is unique. No other organisation brings together such a wide range of professionals.

Our aims are clear: to improve patient care by education, publishing and research.
