Patient Hypotensive?

Presented by Dr Caroline Leech

Why is my Trauma Patient Hypotensive?

This webinar covers the case scenario of a blunt trauma patient who has multiple injuries and is hypotensive. Practitioners tend to assume that the patient is hypovolaemic from internal injuries, give fluid resuscitation and activate the hospital Massive Haemorrhage Protocol. Whilst bleeding is a common reason for hypotension, there are many other causes of a shocked presentation following trauma which need to be considered early in the management to direct the optimal treatment. We will discuss the causes of hypotension following trauma and highlight the history and examination which may provide clues to the diagnosis.

Members of Trauma Care will receive a CPD Certificate for attending this event.
