Dr Peter Shirley, a senior clinician in intensive care at the Royal London Hospital has assembled a group of national experts to produce a unique learning experience in trauma management.  Suitable for doctors, nurses, paramedics and allied health practitioners the programme includes a presentation on urgent care and trauma – maintaining quality by Professor Keith Willett, National Director for Acute Care, Damage Control Surgery from Adam Brooks, lead military surgeon, Critical Management of Head Injuries from Professor Mark Wilson, a lead protagonist of surgical intervention in head injury, ECMO in major trauma delivered by Dr Ben Singer, an internationally known consultant in intensive care medicine and a presentation on Rehabilitation After Major Trauma from Dr John Etherington, National Director of Rehabilitation.  Dr Malcolm Tunnicliffe will give a presentation on the lessons learned from major incidents in London in relation to Kings College Hospital.

The conference is organised by Trauma Care (traumacare.org.uk), an educational charity designed to embrace the totality of trauma care and probably better known for its annual spring international conferences.

This regional event is the first of its kind for which we are grateful to Dr Peter Shirley and colleagues for pulling together the programme.  We look forward very much to seeing you on the day”
